And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp high wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ… Eph 3:17b-18

There is a favorite Christian song of mine – Chris Tomlin’s “Indescribable”. The last line of the song always speaks to me: “You see the depths of my heart and you love me the same”. What an amazing God we have! Knowing that we are regularly unfaithful to God and disobey Him repeatedly, how can He still love us unconditionally? This is a love so powerful that He chose to die for us.

The above verse from Ephesians, as well as the song, points out that God is so amazing that He is beyond our ability to comprehend. I am convinced that we have but a small glimpse of how incredible His love for us really is. The Psalmist says “Your love, O Lord, reaches to the heavens” and that He loves us “with an everlasting love”. His is a love that reaches further than we can measure and lasts longer than we can imagine. It never fails; it never runs out or diminishes in strength.

Christian, do you realize how dearly you are loved by God? Life may be hard and filled with strife and uncertainty, but know that regardless of your circumstances, God loves you with an everlasting, incomprehensible love. And His love is sufficient to sustain you through your trials.
